Teaching You
By-Amanda D. Petty
I’ll teach you.
I’m your tutor.
You’ll be in school.
“On what subject?”
Your life.
“I don’t need a teacher.
I know my life.”
You’re saying.
I’m going to ask you
A few questions.
Are you considerate?
Are you patient?
Are you tolerant to real pain?
Are you optimistic about life?
Can you love someone who is different?
Look into my eyes,
And
Tell me the true answers.
If you’re thinking,
“Real pain?”
Oh honey, I know real pain.
Do you want the list?
Yes?
I’ve been in surgeries for half of my life.
I’ve got my heart broken once or twice.
I drowned at twenty-two months.
I have Cerebral Palsy.
I live in a power wheelchair.
Feel sorry?
I hope not.
I’m your teacher,
Teaching you about real life
And how blessed you really are.
Tutoring you how to love
Someone different.
An Uplifting: We truly want to thank you for reading this. We’re promising, we do know how you truly feel. It will get better, don’t give up. We know some days are bad: physical or emotional or both. On those days, you want to die. We know that firsthand; what help us the most is God. We hope this issue will help you. Just don’t give up. Heavenly Father knows your pains; maybe that’s why we’re here, giving you strength for a new hour. My friend, we really do know how you feel.
